Reinforcement steel carries tensile forces in RCC. Bar diameter, grade (e.g. Fe500/Fe550), length, bends and laps are specified on structural drawings and schedules. Market prices are usually quoted per kilogram or tonne and move with commodity cycles.

For steel bars, approximate weight in kg per metre ≈ d²/162 where d is diameter in mm. Calculators use this for planning tonnage from schedules.
Light surface rust is often cleaned and accepted per site practice; heavy flaking rust or section loss needs engineer review. Follow project quality rules.
Composite of cement, sand, aggregate and water (plus admixtures when specified). Strength grades such as M20/M25 are planning labels — design governs.
Hydraulic binder used in concrete, masonry mortar, plaster and screed. Bagged OPC/PPC grades are common on Indian sites.
Crushed stone / jelly used in concrete and some base layers. Size grading (e.g. 20 mm) affects mix design and pumpability.
