AAC is a cementitious block with a cellular structure formed by aluminium aeration and autoclave curing. Blocks are larger than clay bricks, so walls go up faster with fewer joints, but need compatible thin-bed or specified mortar, proper curing and sometimes mesh at junctions. Structural frames (RCC) still carry primary loads in framed buildings; AAC is typically an infill. Compare cost per m² of wall, not only piece price.
Example: For a 3 m × 3 m partition (9 m²) with 200 mm AAC, piece count comes from block face area plus wastage — use the AAC calculator rather than a clay-brick piece rate.
